Attack of the D-Day Tupperware!
So as all of you may know by now - I’m going the month trying to drop 10 lbs. along with a few friends of mine. Well in my life that means - Refrigeration Overhaul. In order to keep myself on track I make all of my meals and snacks up for the week and keep them in Tupperware in my fridge.

Well this is what one’s fridge looks like after an evening of cooking and prep for the week(s) ahead. The Tupperware has officially taken over my life! Please excuse the poor photo quality - the iPhone doesn’t cooperate in an already dark kitchen at 11 pm.

All Hail the Rom-Com
A couple of weeks ago I lent a few movies to a friend after she said she was looking to watch something ‘feel-good’ – Nothing scary, too sad or intense. I lent her The Holiday, 27 Dresses and a few others that I have watched repeatedly. She wrote me after watching The Holiday and said “…what a perfect pick. Thank you. I would like you to be my movie picker from now on. It is the kind I love. I passed it on the my friend and she enjoyed it too.” That got me thinking about other movies she would enjoy, as I have. My go to feel-good movies (in no particular order) are:
- Prime
- Because I Said So
- The Holiday
- The Break-Up
- Something’s Gotta Give
- Rumor Has It
- Love Actually
- Sweet Home Alabama
- Failure to Launch
- 27 Dress
- How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
- He’s Just Not That in to You
- PS I Love You
- Serendipity
- Notting Hill
- The Last Kiss
- 50 First Dates
- The Notebook
- The Women
- High Fidelity
- In Her Shoes
- Wimbledon
- 500 Days of Summer
- The Devil Wears Prada
- The Family Stone
- The Ugly Truth
- Juno
- Dan in Real Life
- Garden State
- Catch and Release
- Fever Pitch
- 13 Going on 30
- The Proposal
- The Nanny Diaries
- Definitely, Maybe
- Amelie
- A Lot Like Love
- Made of Honor
- What Happens In Vegas
- Music and Lyrics
WOW! That list was a lot longer than I thought. Who knew I liked that many rom-com’s! What are your favorite feel-good movies?

Welcome March!
Wow! It’s March 1st already. When did that happen?!? It still feels like Christmas was just yesterday. Despite time flying by so quickly, I am happy for March to be here. Nicer weather is one month closer to being a reality! I am waiting for the day I can be barefoot outside again without the neighbors looking at me like I’ve lost my mind.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s the 1st of the Month, a Monday, Lent, or the fact that we’ve spent the last 2 weeks watching others perform amazing athletic feats, while we sit lazily on the coach. But a few of us have decided to motivate each other to drop 10 lbs. in the month of March. Crazy – I know! It must have been the guilt of chicken wings and chips setting in yesterday afternoon as we watched our Canadian men win a spectacular gold medal game. So with the bet set (mind you we don’t have any stakes), we are off to drop 10 lbs. in 31 days. I am going to post my weight (gulp!), food, and exercise log on here for all of you to see as an extra means of motivation for myself. Wish me luck.
Happy, Healthy March!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend - I know I will. I have a whole lot of Olympic Watching to do and I couldn’t be more excited. Bring on the medals!
My main spectator events will be:
- Curling Women’s Gold Medal Game vs. Sweden
- Hockey Men’s Semi Final vs. Slovakie
and hopefully…
- Hockey Men’s Gold Medal Game
I might throw in a little Long/Short Track Speed Skating and Snowboarding for good measure. And you can gurantee I’ll be front and centre for the Closing Ceremonies!

1. Read one book every month
2. Go on a Pub Crawl
3. Learn to play a song on the guitar
I think this is going to be Grey Street by DMB. Even though I’ve heard Dave is some of the harder stuff, this is one of my favourite songs and constantly melts my heart when others play it.
4. Track my travels on a map…list where I’ve been and where I want to go
5. Learn to Run 10K
6. Treat myself to monthly pedicures
Unless its a special occasion, I don’t get manicures (they never last). But pedicures just make me feel great about myself!
7. Get a Passport
8. Take a Snowboarding lesson
9. Attend a dance class
This will probably end up being Zumba at Goodlife - I already pay for the membership, so I can’t justify handing over more cash.
10. Become a budding Yogini
I get on kicks with exercise routines, and never have I felt better then when I was doing Yoga 2+ times a week. So sticking with this habit is a must!
11. Study some Conversational French
12. Lose 24 Pounds
OK, so this is an ever going loss…but having it on this list, is just more motivation to lose it!
13. Go on a picnic
14. Go to an Art Show
15. Make a budget
It’s not because I’m bad with money - I’m quite good with it actually, but more because I want to set a savings goal for travel, etc. I would like to put a few pins on the map in the near future. First stop Spain with my ‘other mother’!
16. See some live music
17. Go on a date
18. Take more pictures
19. Go boating
20. Organize my purse
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a relatively organized person. My purse (or large ‘Mary-Poppings’ like bag), is another story unto itself
21. Simplify my belongings
Over the years I’ve found styles that I love, products I can’t live without, and shoes that don’t give me blisters. But before that time, I had accumulated a lot of ‘stuff’. And now, I would like to put my efforts in to paring down that ‘stuff’ because I know how freeing it will feel.
22. Eat Vegetarian for one week
23. Start a Blog
24. Document this list on said Blog

One Flu, One Funeral, and One Empty Blog…
Never did I expect when I started this blog, that the very next day I would come down with one very nasty flu. And let me tell you, this was the flu of all flu’s - I slept for 13 hours straight on the bathroom floor, not having the energy to crawl back to bed each time. On a brighter note, I am 6 pounds closer to my goal weight thanks to this wonderful thing called the flu!
One this very same day (prior to the onset of the flu), one of my very best friends called to pass on the heartbreaking news that her oldest brother had suddenly passed away. I didn’t and still don’t have the words to describe how sorry I am for the family and their loss. They had a wonderful celebration of life for her brother this weekend, and although I did not know her brother closely, it was touching to see how many people came, sang, shared their memories and love, and most importantly supported their family in this trying time. I know in my heart, that they are a strong and vibrant family and although he will be much missed, in time they will heal. My love and thoughts are with them as they grieve.
Needless to say, its been two long weeks and I am way behind on posting my..well, ANYTHING! But I will start today with my list of 24 Things @ 24. The whole reason I started this blog in the first place.

A New Year…A New Blog
Well, inevitably, it is that time of year again. A night of Champagne and sparkling dresses, marks the end of one year with the beginning of another. With a coffee clutched tightly in one hand and my Post-It note ‘To-Do’ list in the other, I am ready to embark on my first of New Years resolutions for 2010…starting this blog.
I had intended to start this blog many, many months ago (August to be exact), but like so many things, it found its way to the bottom of my ‘To-Do’ list. A few days after my 24th birthday, while catching up on the 1000+ items in my Google Reader, I stumbled on this list by Elise Blaha at enJOY it. Inspired, I set off to create my own.
Perhaps I should preface this ‘inspiration’ by briefing you on my love of lists, and one of the driving forces behind starting this blog. I LOVE LISTS. I have a list for everything, both personal and professional. Inevitably, I also keep Post-It Note in business. Making lists keeps me sane, organized and inspired. This blog is my ever evolving ‘To-Do’ list, confessional booth and inspiration spring board.
So, with my list of New Years resolutions firm in my grasp, and a few more days off before the 9 to 5 gig sets in. Here I go!
Welcome to my blog…blissfully full of lists!
